Step into our serene studio on Mount Tamborine and immerse yourself in a hands-on pottery class designed for matcha lovers. In this intimate wheel-throwing workshop (Max. 6 guests) just out in a request via email, you’ll craft two beautiful, functional pieces: a matcha bowl (Chawan) and whisk holder (Chasen) to become part of your daily tea ritual.
As you settle in at the wheel, you’ll be guided step by step by our experienced instructors in a warm, welcoming space. Whether you’re brand new to pottery or have dabbled before, you’ll feel inspired and supported as you shape your vision from premium Australian clay.
You’ll discover the meditative pleasure of working with your hands, each turn of the wheel and each curve you smooth bringing your pieces to life. The experience continues in a second class, where you’ll explore the art of glazing. Choose from hundreds of stunning glazes, including rare imported finishes, or ask one of our instructors how to work with underglaze to create intricate designs and patterns. Experiment with colours, layers and textures until your set reflects your unique style, perfect for your daily ritual.
By the end of both sessions, you’ll take home a handcrafted, completely one-of-a-kind matcha set that is beautiful, functional and steeped in your own creative energy.
Each sip will become a reminder of your artistry, intention and love for slow living. Come for the matcha, stay for the magic, and leave with a set you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

Age Requirements: These classes are suitable for 14+ year olds. Parents are required to attend/partake in class for children under 14-years-old, so don't forget to book in early to reserve your spots. If you wish for your child who might be younger than 14 to attend a wheel throwing class, keep your eye's peeled for our school holiday program where ages 8-years-old and up are able to attend.
6-week intensive wheel throwing course: Once you’ve completed the intro class, you’ll be given a ticket and opportunity to further your passion for pottery and partake in a 6-week intensive wheel throwing course. This course was designed to allow the new potter to discover and practice the basic mechanics of throwing clay on the wheel. Techniques and methods will be shared and discussed and put into practice.
